The Moridi Research Group at Cornell (Laboratory for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing) aims to use the intrinsic properties and flexibility of additive manufacturing to synthesize novel high-performance materials specially designed for additive manufacturing processes, as well as understand the processes involved at the micro-scale, using tools like in-situ mechanical testing and microstructure mapping.

As an undergraduate researcher in the Moridi Research Group, my role is to assist the design and manufacture of a powder bed fusion printer, with the ultimate goal of analyzing and modeling powder flow and the SLM printing process, then using that knowledge to improve consistency and robustness of the printing process.

More information will be added about my work on the Moridi Research Group, but please contact me if you’d like to learn more!
