My name is Vignesh Gnanasekaran, and I’m currently an MEng student studying mechanical engineering at Cornell University. I am passionate about mechanical design, manufacturing, testing, and materials science, especially in the field of 3D printing.

On campus, I am involved with the Cornell Baja Racing team as a member of the Ergonomics subteam, the Moridi Research Group in the MAE department as a researcher designing a selective laser melting (SLM) 3D printer, and running the Cornell Rapid Prototyping Lab. Aside from technical responsibilities, I am also the outgoing Executive Chairperson of Cornell University Program Board (CUPB), a byline-funded organization that brings speakers, comedians, and lecturers to campus.

I will be interning at SharkNinja in Needham, MA this upcoming summer on the Consumer Product Development Team for Shark Vacuums, taking new products from the prototype stage to production at scale.

In past summers I have interned at Markforged (a leading manufacturer of metal and composite 3D printers) in Watertown, MA as part of the Materials team and at Invacare Corporation (a manufacturer of medical devices) in Elyria, OH as a part of the Concept Engineering team.
